One of the downsides to the fact that I recently moved to Chicago is that I’m no longer going to be playing guitar in the Koala Fires. But that doesn’t mean I’m done with them quite yet—we have an EP of remixes titled The Sleeping in Our Sharks available on September 21, 2010.
The 8-track digital release will include remixes of songs from The Beeping in Our Hearts by RAC, Positronic, DJ Empirical, superaction80, Evan Brass, Sean P. Hafer, Matt Mooney and myself.
Earthquakes is a dance night at Mayday (formerly the Gypsy Hut) in Cincinnati’s beautiful Northside neighborhood on the final Saturday of each month.
This month’s musical guests are two Michigan bands—Lightning Love and Silverghost!
Lightning Love are from Ypsilanti, Michigan and I fell in love with them when I saw them open for Bad Veins at the Northside Tavern in (I think) April of 2009. Since then they’re returned to Cincinnati for MidPoint and played NYE at the Northside Tavern (also with Bad Veins). They are one of my favorite bands so I am super excited and happy that they are playing this event.
Silverghost are an analog synth/electric guitar duo from Detroit that, as they describe it, make “candied crime for the ears!” They have an EP that you can download for free at: RCRDLBL.com

No No Knots are a new electro-rock band featuring Molly Sullivan (vocals, guitar), Eli Maiman (guitar, samples, vocals), Martin Diller (drums), Eddy Kwon (guitar, synth, vocals) and Dave McClellan (bass, vocals).
