The Art Test: Episode 2

March 12, 2010

I’m working on a six part web series for the Art Academy of Cincinnati called The Art Test. Over six episodes four students will share what it’s like to study and create at a college of art and design. These students will focus on how their art is making a difference in the world.

Episode 2 focuses on Tim Smith, a Senior at the Art Academy who is majoring in Illustration.

Devil’s Due/PopCult SDCC 2009 Video

January 15, 2010

The San Diego Comic-Con is a multi-media pop culture extravaganza that attracts an estimated 130,000+ people to sunny California over the course of one long weekend.

Devil’s Due Publishing has been attending for years and I’ve been there with them for a lot of them—originally just helping sell comics at their booth but in recent years I’ve been their videographer.

This is my video documenting their 2009 experience, including the launch of a new creative solutions company, PopCult. The music is a new track by Murs, created for Merch Girl: The Curse of Yumiko Morales.

Tomorrow marks the start of the Ninth Annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival. Each year, over the course of two weeks, 100+ sketch comedy troupes perform 125+ shows in the sketch center of the Universe. That’s a lot of sketch.

In 2007 Pizza Infinity made an 18-episode web-series taking a look behind-the-scenes at Sketchfest.

You’ll find a full list of YouTube and Vimeo links after the jump.

2009 in Review

January 5, 2010

Has there ever been a boring year? 2009 was pretty interesting. I went to the Cannes Film Festival, recorded an album with Koala Fires, worked on a some new short films (Score That Date, A Wake, Drive Me to the CenterQuestionable Taste) and spent time in Dallas, New Orleans, Austin, Miami, Chicago, Paris, San Diego and L.A.

I started using this blog about halfway through the year, mostly using it to document creative projects that I’m somehow involved in. Most of the time it’s not about my life outside of making things but I thought it’d share a few personal highlights from 2009.

A Pizza Infinity Christmas Special

December 21, 2009

Visit friends old and new alike in this yuletime favorite. Start a new holiday tradition with Pizza Infinity. Everyone gather around the computer and hug.

This short video was filmed on December 11, 2006. Everyone who appears had been in other Pizza Infinity shorts and there are a lot of callbacks to the other films that (theoretically) make this funnier if you’re somewhat familiar.

Freezer?

December 10, 2009

It’s really cold here in Cincinnati. Ice and snow. It made me think about this video I made with Josh in 2007.

If you say “Bloody Mary” over and over and over and over and over…
