“Broadz Bitch” Music Video

A day in the life of the ladies of Off Off Broadzway. Wake up outside, get a face tattoo, hang out with androgynous midget, you know, your typical Tuesday…

Off Off Broadzway are a Chicago-based musical sketch comedy group. A couple weeks ago I filmed this music video with them. You may recognize Liz and Kelly who I’ve worked with a lot in the past on OneTwoThree videos.

Off Off Broadzway have a holiday show coming up called “Let it Ho!” all through the month of December. Details can be found on their website:

The Infinite Vacation

I just got back from a weekend in New York where a tiny video that I created was screened at the Image Comics panel at the NYCC (New York Comic Con).

The 46 second video is a teaser for a new book that was announced on Saturday, The Infinite Vacation written by Nick Spencer with art by Christian Ward. The first issue will be published in January 2011.

Spencer’s previous books for Image Comics include Forgetless, Morning Glories, Shuddertown and Existence 2.0. During NYCC it was also announced that he’ll be writing Supergirl for DC and Iron Man 2.0 for Marvel—he’s a busy guy. You can follow him on Twitter: @nickspencer

The Art Test: Episode 5

I’m working on a six part web series for the Art Academy of Cincinnati called The Art Test. Over six episodes four students will share what it’s like to study and create at a college of art and design. These students will focus on how their art is making a difference in the world.

Episode 5 focuses on Lillian Nelson, a Freshman at the Art Academy who is majoring in Illustration.

The Dragon and the Giant

I wrote this story when I was 7 or 8 years old, living in Florida. I remember my dad helped me print it out so that there was space for me to do the illustrations. I remember using some sort of reference for the dragon drawing but I have no idea what. I was really into dragons and my mom thinks the movie Pete’s Dragon (1977) might have had something to do with that.

My younger brother is named Jon so I guess that’s where I got that name from. I’m not really sure what a dragon catcher is.

PopCultour 2 at C2E2

The title of this blog post may look like a bunch of gibberish to you so I’ll try to break it down.

PopCult is a collective of ComiCulture entrepreneurs who specialties in publishing, video games, music, film and television. Last year they threw a big PopCultour party at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Well, this year marks the beginning of Chicago’s annual C2E2 (Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo) and  PopCult is hosting events all weekend at Reggie’s Rock Club, just a few blocks from the convention center. It’s PopCultour 2! Get it?
